Yes! I said it! I hide from my children from time to time! Now, I'm not hiding in the bathtub behind the shower curtain with a bottle of Chardonnay or anything. But, if YOU do...kudos! Basically, you're my hero because I just made that scenario up in my head because it's something I'd like to do but, can't! Okay, being honest I COULD...(I'm of legal purchase age and I own a bathtub) but, it hasn't gotten THAT bad yet!
However, just because I am not in the tub- the bathroom is a great hiding place sometimes. Sometimes, is the operable word...because some days I have tiny fingers worming their way under the bathroom door, or a dog IN the bathroom with me! I am rarely even able to close the doors to my bathroom because the kids follow me in! Those rare occasions I CAN...I flush repeatedly lol or run the shower while catching up on some e-reading or texting. (The steam is great for my skin too!)
Anyway, as I sit in my laundry room writing this- I'd like to reassure you that it's okay to feel like this from time to time. Parenting is the hardest, most thankless, most rewarding job you could ever have. So, if you need a timeout...don't feel bad, meet me here in the bathroom, car, laundry room, kids' tree house during nap time- WHEREVER! I'm here for you, in my own hidey hole doing just like you: just trying to make it!
